JOURNEYING TO THE THREE WORLDS
You can access the three worlds in a range of different ways; for example, via trance drumming, deep meditation or the dream state. In many traditions the worlds are accessed through sacred trees. The roots of trees are in the lower or inner world, the trunks are in the middle world and the branches are in the upper world, and they become a vortex and access point into the worlds. You can also enter by digging a hole in the earth or seeing yourself being lifted up by a hot air balloon, or any other way that you are guided to enter.
Drums and rattles have been used traditionally for thousands of years to support and assist people in entering a trance state and the worlds of shamanism. The drum or rattle is played in a constant fast, trance-like beat that balances the right and the left hemispheres of the brain. When your brain is in balance your heart opens and you can drop into a deep, meditative, trance-like state. The sound of the didgeridoo does a similar thing with its constant drone sound and vibration, guiding you into a deep, trance-like state. Once you are in this state it is easier to access the worlds. You can also do the journey in silence or with meditation music. There are many trance drumming tracks available on the internet that you can use for your journey.
